Oriflame World First – RSPO segregated certified sustainable palm oil in foaming product
The Round Table for Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) was established in 2004 to promote the production and use of sustainable palm oil for People, Planet, and Prosperity.
In 2012, Oriflame became the first company in the world to produce a foaming product that contains RSPO certified segregated sustainable palm oil.
In December 2012 our Swedish facility, OPS, was successfully audited and certified to produce foaming products with RSPO certified sustainable palm oil. Then began the process of obtaining a trademark licence between Oriflame and RSPO, which was successfully processed and approved in March 2013.
Future productions of 'Swedish Spa Refreshing Shower Gel, 21876' will bear the RSPO trademark logo to inform the consumer that this product contains certified sustainable palm oil that has been responsibly produced thereby protecting forests, conserving wildlife and caring for the welfare of communities and workers.
Sourcing of sustainable palm oil continues to be a key focus area for Oriflame. For a number of years we have been committed to purchasing all our palm oil from certified sustainable sources, initially through the purchase of green palm credits and now we have begun to use certified segregated sources in Swedish Spa Refreshing Shower Gel.
We aspire to increase our commitment and use over the next few years to demonstrate our support towards RSPO certified sustainable palm oil in order to contribute to the preservation of our natural resources.
