We create safe products that are inspired by nature and powered by science, meanwhile taking environmental and social responsibility when developing, delivering and manufacturing our products.
We’re working to reduce the carbon footprint of our business, protect forests and biodiversity, improve our use and management of water, increase the natural-origin and biodegradable ingredients in our products – and improve the sustainability of our packaging.
For more than a decade, we’ve calculated our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions annually and implemented various actions and strategies to reduce our emissions. In the last decade, we reduced our absolute GHG emissions by 76%.
To reduce our impact, we are committed to take climate action, and have strong targets. For example, we aim to reduce our Scope 1 and 2 emissions 50% by 2030 and are well on track.
At Oriflame we believe it is essential to protect and foster forests and natural ecosystems to maintain biodiversity and combat climate change.
We are committed to reducing our impact on forestry. One example is our ambition to have all priority forest materials traceable to country of origin by 2030.
We depend on water throughout the lifecycle of our products; during raw material sourcing, manufacturing and consumer usage. We must address both the short- and long-term challenges, including water pollution and water scarcity.
We aim to have all new rinse-off products formulated to be biodegradable by 2025, and we are well on track with this target.
Recognised as a Climate Leader
For the fourth year in a row, The Financial Times and Statista have named us a Climate Leader in Europe, recognizing our efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, transparency, and high climate-related ratings.
Achieved our science-based targets
In 2024, we achieved our science-based targets* by reducing our absolute greenhouse gas emissions by 59% in Scope 1 and 2** and our relative GHG emissions by 23% in Scope 3*** from a 2019 base year.
100% renewable electricity
Since 2018, we have sourced 100% renewable electricity through contracts, on-site generation or renewable electricity certificates for all of our own manufacturing sites, warehouses and offices.
Funding climate action
In 2024, we continued to invest in projects to fund climate action for all of our own GHG emissions.**** We funded forest restoration and clean energy projects using wind and solar power in China, India, Indonesia, and Mexico.
*2030 targets: From a 2019 base year, reducing absolute emissions in Scope 1 and 2 by 50% in tonnes of CO2e, and relative GHG emissions in Scope 3 by 22% in tonnes of CO2e/million units sold.
**The included emission sources in Scope 1 and 2 are fuels, company-owned vehicles, refill of refrigerants and generated electricity and heating.
***The included emission sources in Scope 3 are purchased goods and services, upstream transportation and distribution, waste generated in operations, employee business travel, downstream transportation and distribution, use of sold products and downstream leased assets.
****Including Scope 1, Scope 2, water, waste, employee business travel, selected logistics transports and Beauty Entrepreneurs’ flights to global and regional conferences.
We acknowledge that our business activities throughout our value chain are contributing to a negative impact on the climate and to the acceleration of climate change, affecting all stakeholders touched by our business.
Therefore, we have, for more than a decade, annually calculated our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and implemented various actions and strategies to reduce our emissions. In the last decade, we reduced our absolute GHG emissions by 76%. In addition, we submitted CDP Climate disclosures over the same timeframe, to track the effectiveness of our actions and to understand how the changing climate will be impacting our business activities going forward.

However, we are aware that when not managed properly, some of the materials Oriflame sources – including wood, paper, palm oil, palm kernel oil and other natural materials – may contribute to the risk of deforestation and ecosystem conversion. This systemic negative impact could have a long-term effect on forests, other ecosystems and local communities, including human rights. We are committed to reducing our impact on forestry, and we have reported our forest-related impact, risks and opportunities to CDP annually since 2012. An example of our targets include our 2030 ambition to have all priority forest materials traceable to country of origin.

Our product formulations have an environmental impact during production, as well as during and following consumer usage. If not responsibly formulated, they may have a long-term impact on people and ecosystems both up and downstream in our value chain. This is why we need to take the right decisions regarding which ingredients we select as part of the formulation development.
Our product packaging has an environmental impact, both during production and disposal, and can contribute to the pollution of land and waterbodies downstream in our value chain, affecting ecosystems and local communities, including their human rights.
