Helping people has been important
for us from the start

Social causes

Two charitable foundations own close to 40% of Oriflame:
the af Jochnick Foundation and the Jonas and Christina af Jochnick Foundation.

Helping people, especially vulnerable women and children, has always been an important part of our business, starting with our founders, Jonas and Robert af Jochnick. Both the af Jochnick Foundation and the Jonas and Christina af Jochnick Foundation are actively involved in supporting health, education and environmental causes globally.

Oriflame and our employees contribute to other foundations as well, including the Oriflame Foundation, which supports charities in markets where we operate; Help to Help, a foundation that provides scholarships to students in East Africa; and the Responsible Mica Initiative that works to eliminate child labour and poverty in the global mica supply chain.

Af Jochnick Foundation

The af Jochnick Foundation, established in 2004 by Jonas and Robert af Jochnick, operates on the belief that everyone has a responsibility to contribute to and build better societies.

The Foundation supports organisations and individuals dedicated to improving people’s lives, focusing on projects that benefit children and education, our planet, world health, and sustainable societies.

Over the past 15 years, it has secured education for more than 100,000 children. As of May 2024, the Foundation has supported over 285 projects, donated 68.4 million euros, and made an impact in 68 countries across 5 continents.

Jonas & Christina af Jochnick Foundation

The Jonas & Christina af Jochnick Foundation, established in 2012, is driven by a mission to create long-term, positive impact.

By empowering individuals and supporting sustainable initiatives, the Foundation aims to build a healthier, more equitable society and planet. It recognises the inextricable connection between healthcare, education, and the environment.

To date, the Foundation has donated over 30 million euros to more than 40 global projects, with 21 of these projects currently ongoing.

Oriflame Foundation

The Oriflame Foundation supports charities in markets where Oriflame operates, aiming to empower vulnerable children and young women. It fosters long-term partnerships with NGOs and local organisations, enhancing Oriflame’s reputation as a socially responsible company.

Help to Help

One of the many projects supported by the af Jochnick Foundation, the Oriflame Foundation and Oriflame employees over recent years is Help to Help, a foundation that enables scholarships to university students in East Africa.

Responsible Mica Initiative

In 2017, the af Jochnick Foundation and Oriflame partnered to tackle issues in mica sourcing by joining the Responsible Mica Initiative (RMI). This aims to eliminate child labour and poor conditions in the global mica supply chain. In India, where Oriflame has a significant presence, 10% of the 130,000 tonnes of annual mica production involves child labour. The RMI focuses on supply chain mapping, responsible workplace standards, community empowerment, and legal frameworks.

“It’s a really tough world out there
and it’s clear to me that if I want to feel good
then I also need to share”

Formulation and Packaging

Our product formulations have an environmental impact during production, as well as during and following consumer usage. If not responsibly formulated, they may have a long-term impact on people and ecosystems both up and downstream in our value chain. This is why we need to take the right decisions regarding which ingredients we select as part of the formulation development.

Our product packaging has an environmental impact, both during production and disposal, and can contribute to the pollution of land and waterbodies downstream in our value chain, affecting ecosystems and local communities, including their human rights.
