“We know that ageing isn’t a single, static event – it is a collection of interconnected biological processes playing out across every cell in our body. Over the past three decades, expanding gerontological research has identified a set of underlying mechanisms known as the “Hallmarks of Ageing”. Collectively these fundamental hallmarks provide a framework for how all our cells and tissues, including skin, change over time. They are the scientific lens through which we have been able to tackle skin longevity. As our largest organ, the skin is not only a barrier, but a mirror of full-body health and wellbeing. By targeting the biological root causes of ageing, we have been able to explore interventions that go beyond surface-level treatment to extend the youth of skin at a cellular level.”
Oripeptide-3
First developed more than 15 years ago, Oriflame’s patented skincare technology Oripetide-3 combines three purified peptides derived from rice, wheat and yeast targeting cell energy, antioxidant protection and collagen production. It is proven to address key longevity biomarkers in skin such as enhanced collagen synthesis, increased intracellular energy currency, and decreased DNA and protein damage. It’s also demonstrated to have a protective effect on skin cells, reactivating cell-defence against external stressors as we age, while tangibly improving loss of skin firmness and elasticity, and reducing wrinkles.
Through further extensive research and analysis, Oriflame can now reveal that Oripeptide-3 impacts five major Hallmarks of Ageing – Cellular Senescence, Genomic Instability, Loss of Proteostasis, Disabled Microautophagy and Mitochondrial Dysfunction.
Premium skincare range Novage+ harnesses the advanced potency of Oripeptide-3 within its serums, to further activate skin’s longevity potential: promoting elasticity, slowing wrinkle formation and preserving cell function. This activity also signposts greater support for skin’s natural repair mechanisms, efficient waste removal and enhanced barrier recovery, for overall revitalised skin and youthful resilience.

“Longevity is the next frontier in beauty, and we are proud to be leading this transformation. For almost two decades and with over 15 publications, Oriflame has been at the forefront of skin longevity research, pushing the boundaries of youth extension and anti-ageing skincare. These new findings on legacy technology Oripeptide-3 and the impact it has on fundamental Hallmarks of Ageing herald a new chapter in that journey – de-mystifying why and how skin ages to slow the process and further cement the lasting impact Novage+ has in prolonging skin’s youth and beauty.”
“We are also proud of our continued collaboration with the Laboratory of Cellular Senescence and Skin Biology at the Institute for Biomedical Aging Research, University of Innsbruck, and are excited that our proprietary research in the longevity space continues to gain momentum. This brings our ambition to reverse skin’s biological age much closer to reality”
Integrative Beauty – Where longevity science meets beauty & wellbeing
With the paradigm shift from reactive anti-ageing to proactive longevity, a multi-dimensional route to beauty and health is required. One that appreciates skin as a mirror for all-body wellbeing, and examines how lifestyle, genetics and the environment affect not only skin, but body and mind also.
Integrative Beauty at Oriflame unites beauty, health and lifestyle personalised to individual biology. It is powered by science: evidence-based, clinically validated, technology enhanced, and supported by innovations in AI. It emphasises preventative and regenerative care, tackling the root causes of ageing at the molecular and cellular level, with the ultimate ambition to reverse biological ageing.
Cosmetics and Nutrition Expertise
Integrative Beauty at Oriflame is built on the company’s long-standing foundation of diverse scientific expertise within both cosmetics and nutrition. Research & Development brings together specialists in skin biology, biotechnology, phytochemistry, and clinical analysis with registered dietitians, nutritionists and nutritional scientists to drive product innovation. This integration of nutritional and cosmetic expertise is boosted by an open innovation mindset with collaborations with external experts and leading research partners. The focus is on uncovering insights in scientific territories critical to beauty and wellbeing – longevity, hormonal ageing, neuroscience and the microbiome – with the consumer at the core: their biology, lifestyle choices and evolving needs.
Oriflame’s Digital Research Platform
Data is the engine through which Oriflame powers its understanding of beauty and wellbeing. It allows its research teams to decode patterns, anticipate needs and deliver more targeted, personalised solutions. Oriflame’s digital research platform integrates systems biology data, medicinal chemistry databases, and advanced network analysis to uncover meaningful biological connections. In complement to its proprietary databases, Oriflame collaborates with leading providers of natural product databases and develop dynamic maps linking natural compounds to biological mechanisms. As an example, Oriflame’s Skin Interactome a biology framework combining genome, microbiome and exposome to understand and modulate skin health and ageing. More than a theoretical model, it is a guiding framework to select active ingredients that exert influence over multiple nodes of the interactome; design clinical, in vivo and in silico models to test how ingredients affect molecular networks and develop diagnostic tools to tailor skincare to individual needs.
Digital Diagnostic Tools.
Oriflame has extended its partnership with beauty-tech innovator Revieve to deliver an advanced roadmap for AI-powered beauty personalisation. At the heart of this collaboration is the Digital Skincare Diagnosis Tool, which leverages cutting-edge technology to analyse over 120 unique skin metrics through a combination of a selfie and a short questionnaire. This intelligent tool enables consumers to receive highly personalised skincare recommendations, with insights from Oriflame’s own global skin health and ageing study Age Reflect, bringing a new level of precision and confidence to their beauty routines.
Oriflame’s online Nutritional Assessment, created by in-house Registered Nutritionists and Dietitians, gathers detailed information about diet, lifestyle and health goals. Data is analysed using advanced algorithms to identify potential nutritional shortfalls that may benefit from supplementation and evaluates how lifestyle factors and health goals affect overall health and nutritional needs.
