Oriflame announces new production strategy for cosmetics offering

  • Oriflame has launched a new strategic initiative to modernise its European production processes, enhancing innovation and improving the speed to market of its cosmetic products.
  • Over the next two years, Oriflame will transition European production from its current factory in Poland to a network of carefully selected, high-end European manufacturing partners.
  • The initiative will give Oriflame access to a wider range of technologies, specialised expertise and advanced manufacturing processes. This will allow the company to remain dedicated to delivering market-leading quality products at affordable prices.

Schaffhausen, Switzerland – 9 January 2025
Oriflame has today launched a new strategic initiative which will transition European production from its current factory in Poland to a network of carefully selected, high-end European manufacturers.

By working with multiple European partners, many of which currently produce for prestige beauty brands, Oriflame will gain access to more diverse technologies, specialised expertise, and advanced manufacturing processes than those currently available at its single Europe production site in Warsaw, Poland. This will enable the company to develop more innovative cosmetics at a faster pace, improving product quality and speed to market.

Oriflame’s cosmetics currently produced in the Polish factory, will continue to be manufactured within the European Union, preserving the company’s renowned standards for quality and safety. For instance, Oriflame’s high-end skincare formulas, developed by its team in Stockholm, will now be produced in France, ensuring that product development and manufacturing processes align perfectly with Oriflame’s vision of excellence.

The closure of the current Polish facility over the coming two years will be carefully managed, with existing committed orders fulfilled or transferred seamlessly to the new partners. Throughout this transition, Oriflame will uphold its existing terms and conditions with suppliers and customers, ensuring business continuity for stakeholders.

Anna Malmhake, CEO, Oriflame Group, said, “The cosmetics market continues to evolve with increasing speed, fuelled by advancements in technology and shifting consumer demands. With today’s announcement, we are evolving our business model to ensure we have the capabilities to deliver ever-more innovative products at an ever-greater speed to our network of global entrepreneurs and consumers.”

Formulation and Packaging

Our product formulations have an environmental impact during production, as well as during and following consumer usage. If not responsibly formulated, they may have a long-term impact on people and ecosystems both up and downstream in our value chain. This is why we need to take the right decisions regarding which ingredients we select as part of the formulation development.

Our product packaging has an environmental impact, both during production and disposal, and can contribute to the pollution of land and waterbodies downstream in our value chain, affecting ecosystems and local communities, including their human rights.
